Haitang teapot is a ribbed vessel, and its name comes from the lid. The lid imitates the shape of a crabapple flower: pedicel, receptacle, calyx and petals. In the Begonia style, the pot is shaped like Begonia petals. The body of the pot is flat and round, and the three-dimensional lines of sparse ribs outline the shape of the Begonia flower buds ready to bloom in spring.
